Portland to Bend

Gray celebrated his 6 month birthday on our trip to Bend.  We had an amazing summer family vacation together.  Our first stop was the Edgefield on the way through Portland.  Keri and I loved the wineries and outdoor eating and wandering. As we left, we stopped at the Crooked River Bridge so the kids could see the bridge their dad built. Then we drove on to Bend where we got to spend time with our friends, the Morford family and the Hassmanns.  The kids got to enjoy the pool with Hope and Joey, and we loved hanging out with Jenny and Scott.  We walked around Bend's parks and visited the cute downtown.  Mayson even convinced Keri to roll down a hill for the first time in his life. We LOVED our cute Bend cottage and took advantage of walking to restaurants and play areas.  So fun!

Summer Raspberry Picking

We made a visit to Biringer Farm to pick some raspberries and play.  Mayson amazed us by wanting to go on a pony ride for the first time.  She loved every minute on Dolly and wanted to go back for more.  She also ran up and down the rows of raspberries, eating all and maybe even putting a couple in our box. 

Cookies and Friends

Mayson helped make cookies for the first time.  She did awesome mixing, scooping, and waiting for them to cool--patiently.  She even washed her hands before.  They were all ready for the Hassmann clan and their visit.

July Beach Day

We decided to be tourists in Seattle and took a day trip to Alki Beach.  Mayson had a blast with all of her new sand toys, and Gray loved being outside as usual. 

 

Gray at 5 months

The beginning of July brought us Gray's first food experiences beyond milk.  He made the worst faces when given rice cereal...not a fan at first but slowly warmed to the idea. He and Mayson loved seeing Aunt Tara, Uncle Kristan, Kyle, and Kallan during a quick visit through Seattle.  Mayson brought out all the hats in her dress-up collection and insisted everyone wear one. She also had fun during one of her visits with best-buddy Brandon, and loved the watermelon at Waverly's house on the 4th of July.
